I am currently a third year BA (Hons) Fashion Student at Norwich University of the Arts, exploring couture and out of the box ideas!

What has Luce been up to?

Thought we’d mix it up this week and throw in a reel!
Last week we had a very special guest @tomhobdenstudio, who showed us his art form and allowed us to explore using AI to enhance our art and create new stories for them, as well as layering filters and images to create beautiful visuals to be projected on the wall on Saturday for a presentation evening.

Using last weeks Paper marbeling, an image of me holding a teapot over a cup and some AI & Layering magic, we created this trippy amalgamation of work. I’ve worked with AI before, and have complex opinions about it, but this lighthearted fun, and elevation of a previously flat image was something that I really enjoyed exploring.

I am gutted I couldn’t be at the presentation evening on Saturday to see the work we and the young people created over the week from @thebigdraw events (which I too joined in with supporting, and had the best time), but really proud of everyone who took part.

Week 7~ Lucy is covered in paint (again)

The last days of the Kenwood collection meant one final walk around. Our first challenge was to choose sections of the art to translate into colour palettes, so I did tiny art analysis’ of each piece I loved. We then took those and applied them to our practice of water marbling and capturing those unique natural forms on paper. I’m really enjoying learning the application and the history behind all of these techniques too, it’s amazing how opposite ends of the earth had the same ideas and until relatively recently in history, we found that out.

Week 6 with Adam Bridgland
A really fun week exploring screen printing, and putting those family tartans to good use. Something I’ve done a fair few times before but there is always something new to learn and techniques to refine and I’m so pleased with the outcomes.

My Guinness inspired design I definitely want to explore further, it’s had a really positive response from those who have seen it already and I think the humour in it is gorgeous.☘️

Pulling Prints ~ Mono with Jilly & Heritage open day

Another wonderful day playing with inks and rollers! This time trying mono printing. A very free flowing, therapeutic art form I really enjoyed. And I especially enjoyed sharing what I’d learnt in the morning, with Gainsborough House visitors in the afternoon in the gorgeous landscape studio.
